Passionate about programming and communities, Uma Subramanian has dedicated her career to helping developers succeed. She is currently the Sr Director and Head of Developer Community at Turing.com, a unicorn that is building an AI-backed Intelligent Talent Cloud to connect the best software developers with the best opportunities. Before Turing, Uma spent 20 years at Microsoft inspiring and empowering internal engineers and third-party developers to build new products and features on top of the Microsoft 365 platform. She is known for crafting big experience visions and driving impactful outcomes. She has won several Gold Star Awards for outstanding performance during her career at Microsoft.
At Turing.com, Uma is spearheading building a career community for developers worldwide, the people most important to the company’s success. She is on a mission to launch world-class community programs and initiatives that help developers across the globe grow their careers and thrive in their work.
With her team of Community Managers, Program Managers, Learning & Development Specialists, and Developer Success Managers, Uma is focused on creating safe spaces that offer authentic interactions between developers. Her goal is to cultivate and facilitate organic engagement. Her deep programming experience and many years of working with developers offer a deeper access and better understanding of the wants and needs of community members. Uma holds a degree in Chemistry Honors from Delhi University and Software Technology & Systems Management from the National Institute of Information Technology. She is the mother of two children, and a puppy. In her free time, she enjoys non-fiction and fast-paced Bollywood music.
